here is a super piece of work from Dan Swan, Arran Ridley, Theodoros Giannakis, Petros Moris using some video tablets. Dan also did live drawing with Arran on the final episode of Lucky PDF TV viewable here

Atari Video Music Modifications Demo

this is a very cool idea to get people started in to the world of video synthesis !

the modular video synthesizer in the front is synkie a project detailed on this fantastic page with development information and schematics! It looks like its is Michael Eggers work (possibly a collective research project) from what I can read more info here
