Hav1bit VGA Video Synth

"1 Bit Audiovisual Synthesizer
Hav1bit is a VGA and audio synthesizer, consisting of 3 square pulse generators which can modulate themselves, in a way very simmilar to the FM synthesis techniques.
The project is done by means of Arduino programming, and it incoporates an interface consisting of 6 pots and 6 buttons, which can control individually the RGB channels. The very same pulses which are generating visual data are transformed into audio, so what you see is exactly what you hear!"

The Arduino Eye Shield
The Arduino Eye Shield by David Chatting is a circuit board that can be plugged on top of the Arduino allowing it to interpret analogue video (PAL or NTSC) from a camera or other source. It gives the Arduino the power of sight. I can see allot of potential for interesting live video manipulation here!

BATSOCKS TellyMate
Batsocks is a super cool little company making an arduino shield called the TellyMate
the TellyMate puts out black and white PAL or NTSC Composite Video and has an inbuilt character set or can be used for simple graphics
I was thinking If you took one of these £15 and an arduino £10 you would have an interesting "Video Oscillator" as the basis for a simple video synth for £25 not bad
all you need to do is write an interesting program maybe even make it audio reactive by attaching a sensor to the arduino
bildheinzer (scroll down his page) has already accomplished some audio reactive arduino action by using the arduino pong code by Alastair Parker found here whitch I think inspired the idea for generating composite video from arduino found here
